April 1, 2005 Dear Internet, Due to continued threats of legal action, we, The (former) New Original Country Gentlemen, have chosen to alter the name of our modest musical duo. It seems that another set of musical dandies thought to trademark the phrase, country gentlemen, long ago. And while this bit of legal chicanery seems an egregious violation of the unspoken code of country gentlemanliness (for wouldn't a true country gentleman wish for more and not fewer gentlemen upon the earth?) we accept our defeat gracefully. But, fear not, dear friend! For we Gentlemen shall not be abandoning our irrepressible Gentlemanlihood. Instead, we've chosen but to replace the tired modifiers in our title with a new and more descriptive set. For what are we Gentlemen, really? Not new, certainly. We've peddled our musical wares for quite some time now. Nor are we particularly original. For haven't gentlemen roamed the earth in suits since time immemorial? And country? Why bind ourselves to what is occasionally a quite intolerable genre? Alas, we are but a simple two man band of gentlemen. Indeed! We are.... The Two Man Gentlemen Band How splendidly descriptive!
